Mobile Crane Operator

NAC is currently seeking Mobile Crane Operators local to our South End Sewage Treatment Plant project located in Winnipeg, MB.   The project will be commencing in early June, 2016 with opportunities for long term employment stability.

Summary:

As a Mobile Crane Operator you will be responsible for operating a 100T and 200T Crawler Crane and a in a safe and appropriate manner.  You will be responsible to maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Job Responsibilities Include:  

  • Check and diagnose heavy equipment using approved circle check procedures before operating them to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work
  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations
  • Assist in loading and unloading of equipment
  • Instruct apprentices

Requirements:

  • Interprovincial Mobile Crane Operators license
  • Must have 3-5 years experience in a heavy civil construction environment
  • Knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance techniques
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
  • WHMIS certificate is required
  • Fall Protection/Working at Heights is required
